On Saturday 13th April we joined the JAM children and families at The Theatre Royal to see Jesus Christ Superstar. It was a modern interpretation that was done really well; the singing was amazing, the dancing was very energetic, the choreography was brilliant and the acting outstanding.  Overall, it portrayed the story very well engaging the minds and senses of those watching adding to their understanding of the events of Holy Week.

Beetle Drive 6th April

A great afternoon of fun with lovely food.  For those of you who have never been to a beetle drive, no beetles are ever hurt, in fact, there were no real beetles involved, only some badly drawn ones and some very well-drawn ones.

You would think that age an experience would triumph over youth but that was not the case as both matches were won by the same fast-rolling young lady.

Some of the adults promised to improve their dice-rolling speed to give the older members a chance to win the crown next-time.

Sponsored Walk – 11th April

We had a lovely time on Thursday 11th of April walking from St Marys Church along Church Lane, then Skinners Lane and onto the farm track taking us almost to Spixworth and back again (total 5 miles)

With 8 youngsters joined by Don, Linda, Conan, Peter, Ann-Marie (+ 2 dogs), Josh, Ayden, Mary, Chris & Joyce we formed a formidable group roaming the countryside.

At the half-way point we stopped and had a fresh cheese scone that Joyce had baked earlier and, after a few other snacks and drinks we were on our way again.

A handful went ahead at one stage, taking a wrong turn – which meant they walked an extra 100 metres!

We made it back about 12:15

We combined the money from the walk and the Beetle drive.

Thanks to all who supported, sponsored, attended, walked, made food, bought raffle tickets or contributed in any way to either event.

On Sunday 14th just before the JAM session we took a photo of some of the walkers with a cheque mock-up for the Air Ambulance.  The total at that point was £325, since then, we have had other donations bringing the total to £400!!

Well done to young and old, a fantastic result. (And thanks to Don for the helicopter).
