JAM – David Chooses God’s Way
JAM – David Chooses God’s Way
We continued exploring the story of David, focusing on a time when he faced a difficult choice.
David had the opportunity to take revenge on King Saul, who was trying to harm him. Instead, David chose mercy and kindness, trusting God’s way rather than acting out of anger. We thought about the choices we make every day and how God wants us to treat others.

Using props and storytelling, we recapped David’s journey so far, remembering how he cared for his sheep, trusted God when facing Goliath, played the harp for King Saul and was chosen to become the next King of Israel.

During our prayer time, we listened to ‘Be Still’ by Hillsong, while the children reflected on how God is with us in every situation. Each child chose three strands of fabric to hold, representing ourselves, God and the problems or challenges we face. We thought about how God stays with us through difficult times and helps us to make wise and loving choices.
The children also enjoyed baking rock cakes and creating Father’s Day cards. After the children had each tasted one, the rock cakes were wrapped as gifts to take home for an important grown-up in their lives, helping us celebrate Father’s Day and show appreciation for those who care for us.
Our Bible verses reminded us about God’s mercy and the importance of living His way:
As we continue David’s story over the coming weeks, we will keep exploring what it means to trust God and choose kindness, mercy and forgiveness, even when those choices are not always easy.
