JAM cinema visit

JAM at the Cinema

We’ve been learning about David in JAM, so when the new David film was out in cinema, we couldn’t wait to gather together to watch it. It was a great opportunity to bring to life all that we had been learning about David at JAM.

What did we think?

We found it really encouraging to see how David used his faith and received his shepherding call. There was a scene with a tapestry, where David looks down at it and sees how each thread is woven into a bigger design. It was a beautiful reminder that God is at work in every detail of our lives, even when we can’t see the full picture yet.

Here’s what our JAM children had to say about the film!

“I liked the songs in David. They’re catchy and I would gladly listen to them in my free time. I also loved the style of animation! David was a funny and caring character. The sheep were funny and the film was really good over all!”

“I loved Tally and her sisters!”

“Awe-inspiring! I loved the songs and I felt inspired by the characters. Saul felt real and terrifying. Despite being a kids film it could definitely hold the attention of teens and adults. It was a real beneficial film to go see and worth a re-watch.“

“I liked the songs!”

“I really loved the end where everyone came and sang and the sky was dusty and turned bright.”

“Amazing. It really showcased the story of David and I think they portrayed him very well. I’m so thankful and grateful that I was able to go. I think it allowed me to understand the story better.”

“I liked the songs. David was strong and brave when he became king.”
